In 2018, three childhood friends from a humble village shared a dream that was bigger than their means: a long, unforgettable trip to the breathtaking landscapes of Manali and Kashmir. Though they don’t have money, their bond and determination were strong. United by their ultimate goal, they decided to start a business to raise the funds they needed for their adventure.

With no resources to begin with, the friends think a lot. One day, inspiration struck. Their village was blessed with an abundance of rivers and ponds teeming with fish. The friends decided to start a business selling live fish. Thus, AQUAFINA was born.

At first, the business was modest. They would catch fish and sell them to local buyers, gradually earning a small income. But as word spread and their reputation grew, they expanded their offerings to include fancy and colorful fish, as well as aquariums. This move transformed their small venture into a thriving business.

Embracing modern technology, the friends created a WhatsApp Business group and launched an Instagram page for AQUAFINA. Their innovative approach attracted a larger audience, and soon their brand was flourishing. For the first time, they tasted success—and it was sweet.

With newfound profits, they began to enjoy little luxuries that were once out of reach. Trips to nearby hotels to feast on Alfahama and Kuzhimandi, accompanied by Sharja Shake, became a regular indulgence. However, their celebratory lifestyle soon took its toll. They spent so much of their earnings on food and treats that their business finances started to dwindle.

Before they could fully regain control, the COVID-19 pandemic hit. Lockdowns forced them to stay at home, and their operations came to a grinding halt. Their once-bright dream of visiting Manali and Kashmir seemed to slip further out of reach. The friends were heartbroken as they watched their business falter under the weight of their mistakes and the challenges of the pandemic.

Despite the hardships, the story of AQUAFINA is one of resilience. It is a tale of friendship, ambition, and lessons learned—the realization that dreams require not just passion, but careful nurturing and responsibility.
